Memory Lane

I took a stroll down memory lane

And sensed the walls

that had been causing me pain

i remembered what it was like

vowed that i never want to go there again

i’ve been here before

and every time there was a closed door

that blocked my heart to the core.

i asked my Creator

navigate me to somewhere greater

He showed me, pointed me towards the light

all I had to do was surrender without a fight

And told me,

with me

you’re strong

even when you go wrong

every tunnel has ways out

even when your mind is full of doubt

and you get muddled about what life is all about

i can see what’s in your heart

and all those intentions from the start

it’s ok to fall

i’m here for you to call

i’m closer to you than you think

there for you, faster than a blink

i took another stroll down memory lane

and sensed their walls again

they were healed wounds

that glistened like the moon.

the scars,

they were a piece of art

and shimmered like the stars.
