Happy International Wo & Man’s Day

Happy International Woman’s day to every Wo and Man out there. I attended my first public open mic on this day, recited poems I’d written about women. Then there was something inside me that wanted to include the man too as part of this day.

When I came back home, I was scrolling on social media and the known Sadh Guru (watch video here) came up and said “its time we name this day as the day of the femini instead of woman’s day” following that “ what we refer to as masculine and femini are two fundemental qualities in nature, IT’S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GENDER. As the masculine brings one type of value to human life, the femini brings another type of value to our life’s. If these two things happen I dont think women will have to fight for their freedom. They will be free anyway.”

I took it as a sign that my intuition was directing me in the correct direction. Separating the days where women and men celebrate themselves creates separation in the subconscious mind. It become Us against Them. A tug of war. When in reality we were created to live in harmony, swim in honey. We created this beautiful balance to this Universe. To this system.

On this day I celebrated me and my husband. I celebrated the impact he and I have on this journey called life. I ended the open mic session with a poem about him. I celebrated for every man and woman in my life.
