When I Stepped Outside My Door
when i stepped outside my door
i felt like there was so much more
to appreciate and adore.
i began to carve and shape the core
i vacuumed fear from every pore
even when i wasn’t sure
what would surrender to the floor.
when i stepped outside of my door
i saw colours I hadn’t seen before
met souls who reminded me
to be the diva on a dance floor.
when i stepped outside my door
i realised it wasn’t really my door
it was theirs,
all their agendas and affairs
i stepped into mine
where the sun and I would dine
soak our minds in non-alcoholic wine
and laughter tickling the moon and its shine
hearts aligned
in the veins of a dime
when i stepped into my door
i found the Divine.
